How Telegram group admins spot and remove fake support accounts
How Telegram group admins spot fake support accounts, remove them, report them to Telegram, and set the group up so fakes convert fewer members.

ChainPatrol
Telegram group admins spot fake support accounts by watching for new members who copy an admin's name or photo, reply to support questions, or push people to DMs and links. Remove them from the group, delete their messages, then report the account and any bot or channel it promotes to Telegram, because removing someone from your group doesn't remove them from Telegram.
Here's what to watch for, what to do when you find one, and how to set the group up so fakes convert fewer members. For why Telegram itself is slower to act, see our guide to Telegram impersonation takedowns.
Signs of a fake support account in your group
A new member whose display name or photo matches one of your admins.
A display name containing "support", "help", "admin" or your brand name, from an account that isn't on your admin list.
Public replies such as "DM me, I can help" under support questions.
Links to bots, forms or sites that aren't on your official list.
Several new accounts joining together and posting similar messages.
When you find one
Remove the account from the group and delete its messages.
Screenshot the profile and messages before deleting, with the username visible.
Report the account in the app, and send the username to @notoscam.
Report any bot, channel or group it promoted, separately.
Post a short warning in the group: "An account copying our admin's name was removed. Our team never DMs first."
Get any link it shared blocked in wallets and browsers.
Set the group up to resist fakes
Admin titles. Give every admin a custom title so real admins stand out in the chat.
A pinned admin list. Name your admins by username, not display name. See what to pin in your Telegram and Discord.
A welcome message. Repeat the "we never DM first" rule to every new member.
Hide the member list in larger groups, so new joiners are harder to find and target.
Recent actions. Use the admin log to review who joined and what was deleted.
Anti-spam and moderation bots to remove repeat patterns automatically.
When it's more than your admins can handle
If fakes are appearing every day across several groups, the work becomes reporting and following up with Telegram, not just removing members. That's when teams hand it to a managed service. See fake support account takedowns.
Frequently asked questions
Does removing a fake from my group remove it from Telegram?
No. It can still message your members directly. Report the account to Telegram as well.
Can admins stop members from receiving DMs?
Not directly. Each member controls their own privacy settings, so the pinned admin list and welcome message do most of the work.

Fakes of your brand already out there?
ChainPatrol finds them, blocks the links in wallets and browsers, and files the takedowns for you.

Does Telegram have a trademark reporting form?
No. Telegram has no brand or trademark portal. Where impersonation reports actually go, what to include, and what protects customers while you wait.
