Social media brand protection

Social media brand protection

Social media brand protection is finding the accounts, pages, groups and posts that impersonate your brand on social and messaging platforms, and getting them removed under each platform’s rules. ChainPatrol covers X, Telegram, Discord, Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, TikTok and WhatsApp as a fully managed service, files under the right policy for each, and follows up until each fake is taken down.

Why each platform needs its own playbook

Why each platform needs its own playbook

X has an impersonation policy and a trademark route and tells companies to use the trademark route for brand misuse. Meta has impersonation and intellectual property reports plus Brand Rights Protection for eligible brands. Telegram has no brand portal at all, so reports go through general abuse channels and each account, bot, channel and group is reviewed separately. A social media brand protection service earns its keep by knowing these differences and filing accordingly. See how to report business impersonation on X and Telegram impersonation takedowns.

How ChainPatrol’s social media brand protection works

One service across every platform your customers use.

One service across every platform your customers use.

01

01

Find

Lookalike handles, display names, avatars and bios, replies under your customers’ complaints, and new members of your communities, across the platforms above and in multiple languages.

02

02

Separate

Labeled parody, commentary and fan accounts are allowed on most platforms. We apply your brand policy so communities aren’t over-policed, and bring gray areas to you. See fake support vs fan accounts vs parody.

03

03

Block the links

Once we confirm a malicious website or phishing link, we block it across security integrations, including enterprise DNS filtering, within minutes. Major browsers such as Chrome, Safari and Firefox typically block it within 1–2 hours through Google Safe Browsing, so visitors see a warning while the takedown runs. Blocking applies to web domains and URLs. Fake social profiles and chat accounts are removed through platform takedowns.

04

04

File

Impersonation reports, trademark complaints and platform-specific routes, with the evidence each one requires and your letter of authorization where it’s needed.

05

Follow up

We follow up with platforms until we’ve confirmed each case has been removed, and refile automatically when a report stalls. When a fake comes back under a new handle, we file again. Where platforms expose it, including X, Telegram and Discord, accounts are tracked by permanent ID, so a new username doesn’t reset the case.

It depends on the platform. Complete reports on X and Meta usually resolve faster than Telegram, which has no brand route.
