How to report fake support accounts impersonating your brand, platform by platform

Each platform has its own route. Every report needs the same four things: the fake’s handle or link, screenshots, proof you are the brand, and your official handle.

The fake

The fake’s exact handle, profile link, and the message or post that impersonates you, with screenshots showing the date.

Your brand

Your official handle, a link to your website listing it, and proof of brand ownership: a trademark registration number or a letter on company letterhead.

Any losses

If a customer lost money, their report and the destination link or wallet address.

How to report on each platform

Report every fake account, bot, channel and page separately, with the evidence above.

X

Report the profile as impersonation, and file a separate trademark report if the handle uses your mark. Verified organizations get a priority queue. Expect suspension within days when the report is complete.

Telegram

Report the account, bot, channel and group separately from inside Telegram. For a cloned group or channel, also email Telegram's abuse address. Expect no acknowledgement and no SLA.

Discord

Turn on Developer Mode to copy the user ID, then file through Discord's Trust & Safety form under Impersonation. Report cloned server invite links too.

YouTube and Meta

Report the channel, comment or profile as impersonation. If you have Meta Brand Rights Protection, file there; it also covers ads. Ads are usually faster than profiles.

Follow up

Most reports are not rejected; they are ignored. Keep a list of every report, its date and its status.

Re-file with new evidence

Re-file anything still live, adding new evidence such as fresh links or customer screenshots.

Report the site too

If the fake links to a phishing or drainer site, report it to its registrar and host. The account is the lure; the site is the loss.

Pin a message in your official channels naming your real admins and stating that support never DMs first. On Discord, tighten your server’s verification level and DM permissions for new members. On Telegram, hide the member list so scammers can’t find new joiners.
