How ChainPatrol works

  • Find: We monitor for impersonation of your brand across social platforms, messaging apps like Telegram and Discord, domains, app stores and ads.

  • Block: When a fake sends people to a wallet-drainer or credential-phishing site, we get the confirmed site flagged in 20+ wallets, including MetaMask, Phantom and Coinbase Wallet, usually within minutes, and in browsers through Google Safe Browsing, usually within a few hours, so customers see a warning while the takedown runs. Blocking applies to web domains and URLs; fake social profiles and chat accounts are removed through platform takedowns.

  • File: We file takedowns with platforms, hosts and registrars on your behalf, with the evidence each one asks for.

  • Follow up: We follow up with platforms on every case, and escalate and re-file whenever a provider stalls or rejects.

  • Ongoing reporting and visibility: You can follow every case in the ChainPatrol app as it moves, including what’s been removed, what’s still live and why, and what’s waiting on your approval. Each month you also get a summary of threat volumes, takedowns and trends.

Automation handles high-volume threats at scale. When a case needs judgment, such as a fan account, a staff profile or a case that stalls, our operations team takes it. Some decisions come back to you for a quick approval in Slack or email, and you can keep an approval step on for everything if you prefer.

Because we focus on impersonation, the service is shaped around it. It covers fake support accounts on X, Telegram and Discord, lookalike domains, cloned apps and scam ads, plus blocking in wallets and browsers so customers are warned while a takedown runs.

How ZeroFox works

ZeroFox describes an always-on platform for external threat intelligence, protection and response across the surface, deep and dark web. Its offering spans external attack surface management, brand, domain and executive protection, dark web monitoring, finished intelligence, a 24x7 managed external detection and response service, and a managed takedown service that submits requests across social networks, mobile app stores and domains. ZeroFox’s pricing page lists brand monitoring and takedown packages that include set numbers of takedowns per year.

On G2, ZeroFox is rated 4.4 out of 5 across more than a hundred reviews. Reviewers credit its coverage and ease of use; some mention false positives and alerts that need manual review.

Suite or specialist?

This is the real decision. A suite gives a security team one place for many external risks, and ZeroFox is built for that. A specialist goes deeper on one job. If your CISO asks why you’d add a point solution, the answer is ownership. Impersonation of a company whose customers move money is a high-volume, follow-up-heavy job, and a managed service takes over the whole queue rather than adding alerts to your team’s workload.

Which one fits

  • Choose ZeroFox if you’re consolidating external-risk tools and want threat intelligence, attack surface management and executive protection in one platform.

  • Choose ChainPatrol if impersonation of your brand is the problem, you want it handled end to end, and you want what’s still up, what’s blocked and what’s waiting on approval visible in the ChainPatrol app, with a monthly report.

  • Use both if ZeroFox covers your wider external risk and you want impersonation takedowns run as a managed service.

Frequently asked questions

Is ZeroFox a managed takedown service?

ZeroFox offers a managed takedown service as part of its wider platform. ChainPatrol is a fully managed brand protection service, with takedowns, blocking and reporting handled for you.

Do takedown packages limit how many fakes get removed?

ZeroFox’s published packages list annual takedown counts. Whatever vendor you choose, ask how volume is priced and what happens in a heavy month.

Why add a specialist if we already have a security platform?

Because impersonation is follow-up work, not just detection. A managed service files, follows up on and reports every case, so your team reviews results instead of working the queue.
